Sunday, May 1st is the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker. This day celebrates St. Joseph as the Patron Saint of all workers, recognizing the value of human work and the dignity of all working people. This is also the patronal feast of our Church and School. On Sunday, May 1st, remember to say a special prayer with St. Joseph! Good St. Joseph, pray for us! 🙏⚒
From April 29th - May 3rd the priests of our Archdiocese will be participating in their annual retreat. There will be no Mass that week, all Mass intentions requested on those days have been moved to the next available Mass date. Please find some time to pray for the priests of our Archdiocese, that the Lord will continue to guide and bless them abundantly!
Starting on April 27, we are inviting all parishioners to a seven-week campaign to discern and pray on the spiritual and pastoral needs of our parish.
This campaign will culminate with Survey Weekend, on the weekend of June 8.
Until then, please pray and discern on the following questions:

2. What would you like to see in our parish?

As a caring community, we continue to collect for the Transcona Food Bank (an outlet of Harvest Manitoba). We invite you to bring non-perishable food items each week. In May let’s bring in baby food and baby formula.
On Sunday, May 5th, Catholics across Canada are invited to donate to the Pope’s Pastoral Works. With the funds raised by this collection, the Pope is able to provide, on behalf of all Catholics, for various emergency relief efforts around the world. You can donate to this fund via the special envelope in your box of offertory envelopes, the extra envelopes available throughout the church or online via the Archdiocesan website.
Join L’Arche on May 5th for the 20th Annual Vickar Automotive Walk With L’Arche! Each year, the Walk serves as L’Arche’s largest fundraiser. Funds raised at this event will help sustain the life and work of the L’Arche community throughout the coming year. The 2024 Walk with L’Arche event will be held on May 5th at the Oxford Heights Community Club (359 Dowling Ave E). Registration opens at 12:30 p.m., participants gather at 2:00 p.m. to walk a 1km or 5km route down the Transcona trail. After crossing the finish line, participants gather for an outdoor after party with live music, prizes, free BBQ lunch and entertainment for the whole family! The game invites players to explore the four pillars of the Catholic Faith in an engaging and beautiful virtual world and venture out in their role as “the Pilgrim”—a faith-filled seeker on a quest to discover and experience core teachings of the faith while practicing how to “walk in the light” and live as a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ.
